The Valencia County Amateur Radio Association (VCARA) is a club in New Mexico that promotes amateur radio, supports emergency communications, and mentors new operators. In 2022, VCARA partnered with Valencia Middle School to start an after-school amateur radio activity. The program has since grown into a full-year elective class.

This project will supply the equipment and resources needed to sustain and expand the school program. Funding will cover license study books, handheld transceivers, antennas, repeater upgrades, field trips, and classroom lab supplies. By continuing to equip and mentor students, VCARA hopes to keep young operators active on the air, encourage them to pursue STEM pathways, and build momentum toward a future high school program.
